My name is Sue Bishop (née Susan Patricia PICKNETT 1/4/1955). I was born in Birkenhead on Merseyside, where my father
settled after leaving the RAF after World War 2. I lived on Merseyside until I was 18, when I left to study for a degree at
London University.
I am divorced and live with my children in North Essex. I am currently a full-time German/French teacher at a comprehensive
school in Cambridgeshire. Before training as a teacher many years ago, I worked in London at the Evening Standard and Reuters.
Essex Book Festival, 2007
With my children and Nick Barratt, the genealogist from the BBC programme
'Who Do You Thing You Are?' at one of the talks held as part of the Essex Book Festival in 2007.
My interests
Apart from family and local history, I spend time gardening and experimenting with cookery...which means my offerings
are usually a bit of a lottery!
